Video instructions include 14 steps:
1. Cast on 28 stitches on two double pointed knitting needles.
2. Divide the 28 stitches to 4 needles.
3. Make a ribbing -knit 2 and purl 2 with the same color for 14 stitches then stop. Do not knit in round, work the wrong side. Add another color and do the same – knit 2, purl 2 the right and wrong sides. Make connection between colors by knitting extra one stitch and then skip it when you begin the wrong side.
4. Change pattern after 10 rounds. Knit all stitches for 6 rounds, alternating yarn colors.
5. Slide 3 stitches on a safety pin.
6. Make additional 3 stitches.
7. Knit all stitches for additional 16 rows, alternating yarns.
8. Start evenly decreasing numbers of stitches. On the right side of each color, k2tog (knit two together) at the beginning and end of rows. Do not reduce stitches on the wrong side. Do it until you have 20 stitches left in total. K2tog all stitches and at the very end knit 3 stitches together.
9. Pull the tail inside of the baby mitten. Secure and hide the end of the yarn.
10. Work the thumb – remove the pin and pick up additional 7 stitches. You should have 10 stitches in total.
11. Knit all stitches for 9 rounds.
12. Knit all stitches k2tog (knit two together). Knit 3 stitches together at the very end.
13. Pull the tail inside of the thumb.
14. Secure the end of the yarn.
