Long-sleeve lace sweater crochet pattern

Make a foundation chain of 68 chs. One repeat between corners is 12 chs.
1st row (wrong side) – h4ch, d3 into 1ch, ch2, sk3, sc5, ch2, sk3, corner1, [ch2, sk3, sc5, ch2, sk3, dc3 into 1ch] x 2, ch2, sk3, sc5, ch2, sk3, corner1, ch2, sk3, sc5, ch2, sk3, dc3 into 1ch, sk2, sl.st.1, ch35*
*make a chain of 35 chs or multiples of 11 chs plus 2 additional chs.
Work sl.st.1 between first chains and dc3 into 1ch (previous corner) to start crocheting in the round.

Repeat the pattern starting from the 2nd round working more repeats between each corner.

I would like to make this laced sweater for my friend.
the measurement i require is for chest size of 40 inches. do i have to increase the stitches in the lace pattern and the main body stitches.

To adjust the gauge you may use a larger size crochet hook. Since it is a top-down crochet technique, it will be necessary to adjust round 15. If that won't be enough, work more rounds before joining front and back parts together. Happy crochet!
