Hi Luz,

Hi Luz,
I would advise you to start the sweater totally the same as I started it using one size larger crochet hook. After working 14 or 16 rounds (more rounds you will work, more wider sleeves will be), pick up more double crochets to fit your size. I suggest to pick up about 198 dc, but double check your gauge. Happy crochet!

Hi Sana, I need help on

Hi Sana, I need help on adding the sleeves. I followed the video of how to add the sleeves, I used smaller hook 3.75 but it’s too wide. How can I make it smaller? And on your previous message, you wrote that I have to pick up 198 dc. What do you mean by that? Thanks.

Hi Luz,

Hi Luz,
I will be happy to help you out. Did you start the sweater as I did or you added more repeats to the body and sleeves? Please write me how many repeats you started with and how many rounds of the pattern you worked before joining front and back parts together.

If your sleeves are too wide,

If your sleeves are too wide, then the body should be wide enough for you also. So, I suggest to frog off the 16th and 15th rounds to work the pattern totally the same as I did. In my previous post, I suggested to pick up 198 double crochets as you work the joining round (15th round in my case). Now I think that is too many double crochets.
For my 15th round, I worked dc3 into each corner (4 corners) and dc9 above each repeat (14 repeats), so (3 x 4) + (9 x 14) = 138 dc in total.
For your 15th round, I would work dc3 into each corner and dc12 above each repeat to have 180 dc in total. It is necessary to check your gauge before making the final decision. Hope that would help. Happy crochet!

I already did my dc, and you

I already did my dc, and you’re right it’s wide too but it’s ok on my chest so what I did I decrease dc to make 198 or more, I kept fitting while I’m doing the body. Because I don’t want to frog off. My only problem is how to make the sleeves smaller. Any suggestions?

I would suggest you to use

I would suggest you to use smaller size crochet hooks as you work your sleeve. For example, start with 3.75 mm hook, then after you crochet few inches, switch it to 3.50 mm, and then to 3.25 mm. Then estimate how many dc it is necessary to work for your sleeve ribbing and that will be your final decrease. That is the easiest way. The sleeve garment will stretch and won't seem as wide when it will be long. If the sleeve is still too wide, I will think how to decrease one repeat.

Hi Sana I need your help on

Hi Sana I need your help on the sleeves. Since I did 16 rounds , so I will follow your sleeves pattern starting 4rth round? I'm confuse.Thanks.

Hi Luz,

Hi Luz,
I did 14 rounds and you crocheted 2 rounds more. So, it is necessary to start the sleeve pattern from the 3rd round (skip the first 2 rounds). Happy crochet!
