For Marilyn Kolako,
For Marilyn Kolako,
To make a bigger size will depend on your gauge/tension. If your gauge was about the same as mine, I would advise you to make a foundation chain of 70 chains (count all the loops including the loop on your hook). Since you will have more chs than I had, start crocheting from the 3rd row. After the 19th row, work 2 returning chains because you will continue crocheting rows increasing chains.
19th row – dc27, m1, dc1, m1, dc47, m1, dc1, m1, dc57, m1, dc1, m1, dc47, m1, dc1, m1, dc28 + 2RC
20th row – sc29, m1, sc1, m1, sc49, m1, sc1, m1, sc59, m1, sc1, m1, sc49, m1, sc1, m1, sc28, sc2 (in the very last chain) plus 2 RC
21st row – dc30, m1, dc1, m1, dc51, m1, dc1, m1, dc61, m1, dc1, m1, dc51, m1, dc1, m1, dc31 + 2RC
22nd row – sc32, m1, sc1, m1, sc53, m1, sc1, m1, sc63, m1, sc1, m1, sc53, m1, sc1, m1, sc31, sc2 (in the very last chain) plus 2 RC
23rd row – dc33, m1, dc1, m1, dc55, m1, dc1, m1, dc65, m1, dc1, m1, dc55, m1, dc1, m1, dc34 + 2RC
24th row – sc35, m1, sc1, m1, sc57, m1, sc1, m1, sc67, m1, sc1, m1, sc57, m1, sc1, m1, sc34, sc2 (in the very last chain) plus 2 RC
25th row – dc36, m1, dc1, m1, dc59, m1, dc1, m1, dc69, m1, dc1, m1, dc59, m1, dc1, m1, dc37 + 1RC. Before joining the back and two front parts together, attach the parts with safety pins and try it on. The back and two front parts should be as long as your chest circumference. If you need to work more rows to widen the garment, work 2 returning chains after the 25th row and crochet more rows increasing chains. If you worked too many rows, the sleeve opening might be too big and the sleeve will be too wide accordingly. In that case, you may need to frog off 1 or more rows to make your size. After you join the back and 2 front parts together, follow the pattern exactly to end. Happy crocheting!
