Yarn - Bernat Cotton-ish (cotton ball) / light 3/ 2.4 oz (70 g) / 282 yards (258 m) / about 2 balls needed
Hooks - I/9 - 5.5 mm and H/8 - 5.00 mm or other size hooks needed for the gauge
Gauge - 5 repeats/bumps go into about 4 inches (10 cm)

Body: 

Part 1

Begin crocheting from the bottom to top.
Make a foundation chain of 124 chs or multiples of 3 chs plus 1 additional ch (the number of repeats should be odd).
Join it into a ring with the slip stitch.

1st round – ch3, dc* to end + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch
*you should have 122 double crochets and 3 initial chs

2nd round – ch3, dc1, ch1, sk1, [dc2, ch1, sk1] to end + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch
3rd round = 1st round
4th round = 2nd round

Pattern
5th round – ch2, sk2, [bump1, loose ch1, sk2] to end ; sc1, picot + sl.st.1 into 1st ch
Use a smaller size hook

6th round – (sl.st.1, ch3, insert hook into 2nd ch from hook, sc1) into 1ch, [loose ch1, sk bump, bump1] to end + hdc1 into 1st bump

7th round - ch2, sk bump, [bump1, loose ch1, sk bump] to end ; sc1, picot + sl.st.1 into 1st ch
Repeat the pattern starting from the round 6 until you crochet to your under arms.

Part 2

Last round – ch1, [ch1, sk bump, sc2 under 1ch] x 5, [loose ch1, sk bump, bump1] x 16, [ch1, sk bump, sc2 under 1ch] x 5, [loose ch1, sk bump, bump1] x 14, loose ch1, sk bump, sc1, picot + sl.s.t1 into 1st ch

Front part
Work one slip stitch into the following chain from the hook and make two chains to pick up the height. Then turn your work to the wrong side of the garment.
1st row (wrong side) – dc1, [ch1, sk bump, dc2 under 1ch], ch1, sk bump, dc dec1 + RC3
2nd row (right side) – h5ch, dc dec2, dc to last 5 chs; dc dec2, dc1 + RC2
3rd row – h4ch, dc1,[ch1, sk1, dc2] to last 3chs; ch1, sk1, dc dec1 + RC3
4th row - h5ch, dc dec2, dc to last 5 chs; dc dec2, dc1 + chain 33

Back part
Attach the yarn one chain before the first bump.
1st row (right side) – [loose ch1, sk bump, bump1] to last bump; loose ch1, sk bump, sl.st.1 + RC2
2nd row = 1st row (front part)
3rd row = 2nd row (front part)
4th row = 3rd row (front part)
5th row = 4th row (front part)

Join back and front parts
Work slip stitch 1 to join back and front parts together.
1st round – ch3, dc above chains, hdc to last round, hdc dec1, hdc to end of the round, hdc dec1, hdc to double crochets + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch
2nd round – ch2, dc1, [ch1, sk1, dc2] above dcs, [ch1, sk1, hdc2] to end + sl.st.1 into 2nd ch
3rd round – ch2, dc15, dc dec1, dc above dcs, hdcs to end + sl.st.1 into 2nd ch
4th edge round – [sl.st.2, (sl.st.1, ch3, sl.s.t1) into 1ch] to end

Join front and back parts totally the same way as you joined back and front parts working the same four rounds.
Crochet the edge round around the neck and initial foundation chain.

I suggest you to work 51 repeats or (51 x 3) +1 =154 chs. It of course depends on your gauge, but the pattern is very stretchy. Since you will use a thinner yarn, you may try to work 53 repeats instead or (53 x 3) +1 =160 chs. Happy crochet!

To make the second row work, you should have 158 double crochets and 3 initial chains (= one double crochet) or 159 : 3 = 53 repeats. You may work one decrease before end of the first row and one decrease when you will work the second row. Happy crochet!

For my project, I skipped 5 repeats under each arm and worked 15 repeats for the front part and 16 repeats for the back part. Later on I crocheted one more row for the back part to have the same number of repeats with my front part and make it slightly higher.
In your case I would skip 10 repeats under each arm and worked 16 repeats for the front part and 17 repeats for the back one. In addition, I would make more chains to join front and back parts together to make armholes wider (add mult. of 3 chs). Happy crochet!

I do not know why you have

I do not know why you have fewer bumps, but good thing is that you have still odd number of repeats. I suggest you to try skipping 10 bumps/repeats under each arm and use 16 repeats for the back part and 15 repeats for the front part (just as shown in the video).
