Hi Mam, In the gauge it says

Hi Mam, In the gauge it says one repeat is 3 inches wide. Can you please explain what is one repeat or which stitches constitute a repeat. Thanks.

Hi LuvCrochet,

Hi LuvCrochet,
Please see the attach picture. If you need to add repeats to your initial foundation chain, add 10 chs for each repeat. Happy crochet!

Hi Ekasti,

Hi Ekasti,
I also love your end result and the idea of working shells for the front body edges. It looks very nice and elegant. Thank you for sharing your work with us. I appreciate it. Happy crochet!

Hi Sana:

Hi Sana:
Hope you are well. Thank you for posting this tutorial. I would like to make this project for my friend as her birthday gift. I followed the XL size with a foundation chains of 124 chains. I finished 1st row and 2nd row. For the 3rd row, should I do 'h3ch, dc2 (or sc2?), ch3, inc1 into 2nd sc ch, ch3, dc 7 into Vst of prev. row, ch3, inc1 into 2nd sc ch, ch3, corner,...+ RC1 (or RC2?)'? For the 4th row, should I do 'h2ch (or h3ch?), sc2 (or dc2?), ch1, sk1, sc5, ch3, Vst1 into inc, ch3, sk1 dc, sc5, corner,...+ RC1 (or RC2?)'? For the 5th row, should I do 'h2ch (or h3ch?), sc2, ch3, sk2, sc3,...+ RC2 (or RC1?)? Grateful for your comments. -charlene

Hi charleneg,

Hi charleneg,
Please look at the very first comment page I have a chart there. A cross means single crochet and a cross with a line at the top means double crochet. At the end of the 2nd row, it is necessary to work 2 returning chains to pick up the height for double crochets of the following row. Begin the 3rd and 4th rows with 2 double crochets and at the end of those rows work RC2 to pick up the height of the following rows which you start with dc2 also. Begin your 5th row with dc2, but finish with RC1 to work 2 single crochets for the row 6. Happy crochet!

Hi Sana:

Hi Sana:
Thank you for the instructions. I have finished the 5th row and would like to move on to the 6th row. I meant to pick up a 4.25mm hook at a local crafts store but was informed that size 4.25mm was no longer available. May I know what size of a crochet hook to use for the 6th rows and onwards? -charlene

Hi charleneg,

Hi charleneg,
The yarn and hook sizes that you see in written instructions are merely a suggestion. Crocheters produce different gauges using the same crochet hook sizes. You may use a 5.00 mm hook or any other crochet hook you have. The most important thing is your gauge.
I switched to a larger size crochet hook to widen the garment. I suggest you to measure your repeat and estimate how wide repeats should be to your chest circumference accordingly. Happy crochet!
