Yes, you may use any size
Yes, you may use any size crochet hook. Just make sure that when you work your sample stitches are not too tight or loose.

Hi Sweetpea77,
Hi Sweetpea77,
For a size L, I would make a foundation chain of 182 chains. Then I would work the front and back parts the same way, but skip one extra repeat under each arm. Happy crocheting!

I wanted to let you know just
I wanted to let you know just how much I love and adore your site, your designs and now that you are adding necklaces to each design I am now loving your design of each and every necklace!!! They go so nicely with each one of your creations!! Each one of your designs shows just how talented you are. Your designs are very classy, sensual and elegant all wrapped up in one. Your designs can be worn very casually yet with the right outfit they can be dressed up for a very dressy dinner party or event. I want to thank you so much for the time, effort and energy you give to each of your designs and that you so graciously share them with each of us. My gratitude to you goes beyond words, yet, I will say thank you so very, very much for your gift to all of us for sharing your talent of crocheting, of your designs and your knowledge of this art. You are an excellent teacher and I am a very loyal and willing student!!! Blessings to you!!

To make a size M would I need
To make a size M would I need to make a foundation chain of 169 or could I use a larger hood and make my gauge larger?
Sana replied on Permalink
Hi Lhspears,
Hi Lhspears,
You may use a larger size crochet hook and/or thicker yarn to adjust your gauge. If that won't be enough, then it will be necessary to use a smaller size crochet hook or thinner yarn and add two repeats/26 chs. Happy crochet!
