Begin crocheting the bolero from the bottom to top.
Make a foundation chain of 227 chs to work 16 repeats or multiples of 13 chs plus 19 additional chs.
1st row (right side) – h13ch, sl.st.1, ch4, sk4, [(sl.st.1, ch3, dc3) into sm.ch, sk2, sl.st.1, ch4, sk4, sl.st.1, ch4, sk4] to last 1ch; dc1 + RC14
2nd row (wrong side) – [sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3chs, ch11] to one last repeat; sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3chs, ch9, dc1 into last ch + RC7
3rd row – h13ch, sl.st.1, [ch6, sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3 chs, ch4, sk6, sl.st.1] to last 5chs; ch4, sk4, dc1 + RC14
Alternate the 2nd and 3rd rows until you crochet 28 rows.
Decrease
29th row – h13ch, sl.st.1, [ch6, sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3 chs, ch4, sk6, sl.st.1] to last 5chs; ch4, sk4, dc1 + RC11
30th row – [sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3chs, ch11] to one last repeat; sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3chs, ch4, qcr1 into last ch + RC6
31st row – [sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3 chs, ch4, sk6, sl.st.1, ch6] to one last repeat; sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3 chs, sk6, qcr1 + RC2
32nd row - [sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, ch3, dc3 under arch of 3chs, ch11] to end; sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row + RC7
33rd row – h13ch, sl.st.1, ch6, sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row, [ch3, dc3 under arch of 3 chs, ch4, sk6, sl.st.1, ch6, sl.st.1 above 3rd dc of prev.row] to end + RC14
