Crochet in the round increasing 4 chs in each round or 2 chs on each side of the foundation chain.
1st round - sc to last one chain, sc3 on 1 ch.(to increase 2 chs), work sc on the other side of the foundation chain to last 1ch., sc 2 on 1 ch.
2nd round – sc2 on 1st ch, sc to the other side, increase 2 chs, continue sc back and inc. 1 ch before the end of the round.
Repeat 2nd round four more rounds or until you reach the desired length and width of the bottom of the purse.
Step 2
Body – large flowers stitch
(the total number of the ch.sts should be dividable by 3)
1st round – 1st cl.*1, (2nd cl.**) to end; at the end, hcl.*** 1. Then insert the hook into the very 1st ch. after the starting point, grab the yarn, and pull it through the remaining 3 sts on your hook.
*1st cl. – ch3, insert hook into 2nd ch., grab the yarn, and pull it through (you should have 2 sts on hook). Pull the yarn through 3rd ch. (3 sts on hook). Insert hook into back loop of the 1st base ch., grab the yarn, and pull it through (4 sts on hook). Pull the yarn through 2 back loops of the following 2 chs (6 sts on hook). YO, pull the yarn through the 6 sts.
**2nd cl. – ch2, insert hook into a center of the half flower, grab the yarn, and pull it through (2 sts on hook). Pull the yarn through the last used ch. and through 3 back loops of the following 3 chs (6 sts on hook). YO and pull the yarn through the 6 sts on hook.

1st row (wrong side) – sc to end plus 3 RC
2nd row (right side) – 1st cluster, (2nd cluster) to end; at the end, hcl.*** 1, yo, and pull the yarn through the 3 sts plus 1 RC
3rd row – (hdc3 in each center of the half flowers) to end; at the end, sc1 in the very last ch. plus 1RC
4th row – blsc to end
Join the long sides of the handles together. Cut the yarn and secure it.
Insert plastic purse handles inside of the straps (optional).
Step 4
Second bag
Crochet a second bag similar to the 1st one, but slightly smaller and instead of the pattern work just sc rounds.
Step 5
Join purse handles
Place the smaller bag inside of the bigger. Join those two bags together sewing handles into place.
