Reusable facial mask
Pattern
Fold a piece of paper (8.25 in x 10.75 in/21 cm x 27.4 cm) in half. Trace it on a cotton fabric. Cut out 2 slightly bigger pieces than the paper for an adult size and slightly smaller pieces than the folded paper for a child size. Cut out of silk* fabric just one piece about 8.25 in x 5.5 in/21 cm x 13.8 cm.
*you may substitute the silk fabric with cotton
Put the silk piece on top of two cotton fabrics and sew longer sides. Secure thread ends after each sewing. Insert a hand between cotton fabrics and flip that inside out so the silk piece will be between cotton.
Fold each shorter side to center and baste it.
Cut out two the same pieces 2.5 in x 4.5 in/6.4 cm x 11.4 cm out of cotton fabric.
Secure shorter sides. Place one piece at a time over your baste stitch (unsecured side on top) and sew it together.
Flip the mask to the wrong side. Fold the second unsecured side of the piece and sew it to the mask also.
Tie
Cut out about 1 inch x 40 inches long piece of cotton fabric. Secure all edges.
Use a safety pin to insert each end of the tie into the mask.
