Step-by-step knitting instructions
Step 1
Cast on 80 stitches or multiples of 8 stitches.
Step 2
Join the first and last cast-on stitches together to knit in round. Double check that stitches are not twisted anywhere.
Step 3
1st and all odd rounds - knit (k) all stitches to end
2nd round - [k2, yo*,k20, yo, k2, yo, k16, yo] repeat that twice. That way you divided your total number of stitches to 4 parts (2 shoulder parts, front, and back)
*yo - yarn over (wrap the yarn over the knitting needle to make a new stitch)
4th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog**)9, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)7, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times.
The other way of putting that together is going by parts:
- each part in 4th round - k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog) to last 2 stitches, k2 and yo
**p2tog - purl 2 sts together
6th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)10, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)8, k2, yo] repeat that for other 2 parts
- each part in 6th round - k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo) to last 2 stitches, k2 and yo
8th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)11, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)9, k2, yo] repeat that twice
10th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)12, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)10, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
12th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)13, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)11, k2, yo] repeat that twice
14th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)14, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)12, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
16th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)15, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)13, k2, yo] repeat that twice
18th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)16, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)14, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
20th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)17, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)15, k2, yo] repeat that twice
22th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)18, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)16, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
24th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)19, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)17, k2, yo] repeat that twice
26th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)20, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)18, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
28th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)21, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)19, k2, yo] repeat that twice
30th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)22, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)20, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
32th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)23, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)21, k2, yo] repeat that twice
34th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)24, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)22, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
36th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)25, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)23, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
38th round - [k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)26, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)24, k2, yo] repeat that twice
40th round - [k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)27, k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (yo, p2tog)25, k2, yo] repeat that 2 times
Step 4
41st round - knit 1st part, cast off 2nd part, knit 3rd part, bind off 4th part
42nd round - knit 1st and 3rd parts in round
43 and 44 rounds - knit to end
Step 5
45th round - knit to end and bind off 2 stitches
46, 47, and 48 rounds - knit to end
49th round - knit all stitches and cast off 2 sts
50 - 121 rounds - knit to end
Step 6
122nd round - pick up 10 stitches (increase your total number of sts from 120 to 130) increasing sts every 12 stitches
Step 7
123rd round - [yo, p2tog] to end
124th round - knit to end
Repeat the pattern for several rounds
Step 8
Cast off.
Try the sweater on before cutting the yarn and securing it.

Hello Sana,

Hello Sana,
I'm really impressed by all of your work. I just have a question about the 41st round. what is the 1st part, 2nd part, 3rd part and 4th part. and how to cast off ?
and about the 42nd round ,how to only knit the 1st and 3rd part?
Thank you

Hi Sara,

Hi Sara,
Thank you for the good questions. The 1st part is my front part of the body, the 2nd part is my shoulder part, the 3rd part is the back part, and the 4th part is the second shoulder part. Please watch the video starting from 21:46 to see those parts, how I cast of sts, and how to knit the front and back parts only. Happy knitting!

Thank you so much Sana. I've

Thank you so much Sana. I've just iscovered that I made a mistake I've started with 88 stitiches as you told someone here to do so. And now I was counting the whole stitches number it was 225 but it should be 244 stitiches. I didn't do the 41st round yet. I need your opinion; Should I do another round which will be ''[k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)28 , k2, yo, k2, yo, k2, (p2tog, yo)26, k2, yo] repeat twice''; OR Should I just knit 59 and cast off 53 stitches?

It seems like I count them in

It seems like I count them in a wrong way they are 239. I'll knit 63 and cast off 57 but the final binding off will be 56 stitiches.
Thanks alot Sana

Hi Sara,

Hi Sara,
I've just seen your comments. I'm sorry that it took me so long to reply. I'm glad that you figured it out. Happy knitting!

Hello dear,

Hello dear,
I'll appreciate you if you can provide stitch count for the same of size xs.
Love your videos but can't make me a sweater because the available size is different.
Please help me out.
Thanks

Hi shilpakrishnan10,

Hi shilpakrishnan10,
The easiest way to work a smaller size is to use a thinner yarn and/or smaller size crochet hook. Happy crochet!

Hi Sana, I want to try to

Hi Sana, I want to try to knit this, I watched your video of how to purl, I don't know why you're doing differently like what I do. And can I use cotton yarn on this pattern? Pls. advise. thanks.

Hi Luz,

Hi Luz,
You may purl or knit the way you do. As long as you can get a knit or purl stitch, that is good enough already. Use any yarn you like for the pattern. Happy knitting!
