When you take your salmon out of the oven it will still continue to cook. Therefore, it is better to get it from the stove a little bit earlier than later.
You need to just start after about 15 minutes (depends on how thick your salmon piece is) to check whether it is enough to cook or not. Don’t worry. It's not that hard to bake it at all. Everyone can do it right way without any doubt about it.
In order to bake salmon you need to have at least an electric or gas stove, baking sheet, fry pan, aluminum foil, small and large bowls.
In addition, you should have the following ingredients:
- 1 pound of fresh salmon
- 1 middle size onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 middle size carrot
- 2 tbsp.* of barbeque sauce
- 1 tbsp. of mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil
- ½ tsp.** of sugar
- salt and pepper by taste
*1 tbsp - table spoon (approximately 14.9 milliliters)
**1 tsp - tea spoon (app. 4.9 ml.)
In a small bowl, mix the barbeque sauce, mayonnaise, grated garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper. Place pieces of salmon in a large bowl, and coat with the mixture from the small bowl that you just did. Cover the bowl, and marinate salmon in the refrigerator 1-2 hours or more. However, you shouldn’t go over 24 hours. While in the refrigerator you may turn your pieces from time to time if you wish. However, it is not necessary to do it.
Chop onions and grate carrots. Put your fry pan on the flame and pour there a little bit of vegetable oil just to cover the surface of the pan. Place the onions and carrots into the pan and fry it until slightly golden.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Place foil on the baking sheet and grease it slightly with vegetable oil. Transfer salmon from the large mixing bowl on the foil and put on sides of it fried onions and carrots. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven, and bake salmon uncovered for about 20 minutes, or until easily flaked with a fork.
After that take it out from the stove and let it stay for a few minutes. Place onions and carrots on top a little bit also.
You can serve it whether hot or cold.
