Part 2 video tutorial
Second front part
Attach the yarn 3 repeats before the end of the row 30. Then work rows like your 2nd row (regular way) decreasing chs from the neckline only.
31st row – ch2, sc1, [ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sk2, dc3 into 1ch, ch4, sc1] to last 6 chs; ch3, sk4, dc2 + RC1
Work rows of the 2nd back part as a mirror reflection to rows of the first front part.
Back part
Attach the yarn next to the first front part.
31st row – ch2, sc2, [ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sk2, dc3 into 1ch, ch4, sc1] to last repeat; ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sc1 + RC1
Work following rows as your 2nd row until you crochet 48 rows.
First back shoulder part
49th row – h2ch, sc2, [ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sk2, dc3 into 1ch, ch4, sc1] to last repeat; ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sc1 + RC1
50 -51 rows = 2nd row
Join shoulder pieces
Work 52nd row like 2nd row joining the back and front shoulder pieces together.
Second back shoulder part
49th row – ch1, sk1, hdc1, dc1, (ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, ch2, hdc1, dc1) x 3, [ch5, sc1 under arch of 4chs, sk2, dc3 into 1ch, ch4, sc1] to last 7chs; ch5, sk5, dc2 + RC1
50 -51 rows = 2nd row
Join the 2nd back shoulder piece with the front shoulder piece.

1st row = 1st row (body)
2nd row = 2nd row (body)
3 - 10 rows = 2nd row
Work rows 11 – 28 as 2nd row using a larger size crochet hook.

Can you change pattern for a larger size 2X.
Hi ayleen jackson,
Hi ayleen jackson,
For the size 2x I would make a foundation chain of about 231 chs to work 22 repeats. Then I would use 5 repeats for each front part and 12 repeats for the back part. I'd also work more rows before joining shoulder pieces together. For each sleeve I'd make a foundation chain of about 81 chs to work 7 repeats. You may also adjust your gauge by using larger size crochet hooks and/or thicker yarns. Happy crochet!
Hi sana.. can you please tell
Hi sana.. can you please tell, with the same guage if i want to make it in XL, what changes i need to do?
Hi rashmi,
Hi rashmi,
For the XL size, I would make a foundation chain of 211 chs to work 20 repeats. Then I'd use 4 repeats for each front part and 10 repeats for the back part. And I would also add about two repeats to each sleeve. I'd make sleeves longer and crochet more rows before joining front and back parts together. Happy crochet!
Hi....from where are you able
Hi....from where are you able to get the Bernat cottons ish yarn...I heard it’s discontinued...
Hi sarvani,
Hi sarvani,
This yarn is discontinued. I bought a bunch when it was still available. You may work few samples using different yarns to try which yarn will produce the right gauge. Happy crochet!
Am I supposed to make a new
Am I supposed to make a new piece for each new part? the reason I ask that is because in 1st front row there is a 31st row and in the 2nd front row there is a 31st row.
