Row-by-row crochet instructions

Crochet the jacket from the top to bottom.

First back shoulder piece

Make a foundation chain of 20 chains.
1st row – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1 + 3RC
2nd row – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1, ch16 . . . . .
(Second back shoulder piece
Make a foundation chain of 20 chs.
1st row – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1)

Back part

. . . . . Join the two shoulder pieces together and continue crocheting the 2nd row above the 2nd shoulder piece. Work dc1 into the very first ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1 + 3RC
3 – 10 rows = 1st row

First front shoulder piece

(reuse chs of the initial foundation ch)
1st row – attach the yarn into the very 1st ch, ch3 to pick up the height, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1 + 3RC
2nd row = 1st row (back shoulder piece)

Increase

3rd row – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; (dc1, ch1, dc1) into 1ch + 3RC
4th row = 1st row (back shoulder piece)
Alternate 3rd and 4th rows until you increase 8 chs or half of your added chs at the end of the 2nd row (1st back shoulder part).

Second front shoulder piece

1st row – attach the yarn into the very 1st ch, ch3 to pick up the height, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; dc1 + 3RC
2 – 3 rows = 1st row (back shoulder piece)

Increase

4th row – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to last 1ch; (dc1, ch1, dc1) into 1ch + 3RC
Repeat the pattern starting from the 3rd row till you increase 8 chs or half of your added chs at the end of the 2nd row (1st back shoulder part).

Join front and back parts together

11th row – h5ch, dc to last 1ch; dc2 into 1ch, join front and back parts, dc2 into 1st ch of back part, dc to middle of back part, sk1*, dc to last 1ch; dc2 into 1ch, join back and front parts, dc2 into 1st ch of front part, dc to last 1ch; dc2 into 1ch + 3RC
*skip one chain to decrease one chain for the following patter which requires multiples of 8 chs plus 3 additional chs
12th row – h5ch, dc to end + 2RC

Cluster pattern

Count your chains, you should have mult. of 8 chs + 3 chs
13th row – h4ch, sc1, [ch4, sk3, dc1, ch4, sk3, sc1] to last 1ch; sc1 + 2RC
14th row – h4ch, hdc to end + 4RC
15th row – h5ch, trc1, ch2, trc CL1, ch1, sk4, sc1, [ch1, sk4, trc CL1, (ch2, trc CL1) x 2, ch1, sk4, sc1] to last 6chs; ch1, sk4, trc CL1, ch2, trc2 into 1ch + 2RC
16th row – h4ch, hdc to end + 2RC
17th row – h4ch, sc1, [ch1, sk4, trc CL1, (ch2, trc CL1) x 2, ch1, sk4, sc1] to last 1ch; sc1 + 2RC
Repeat the cluster pattern starting from the row 14. To widen the garment from the bottom, use a larger size crochet hook/hooks.

Sleeve

Begin each sleeve using a larger size crochet hook. Attach the yarn underarm and chain 3 to pick up the height. Work rows joining them together.
1st row (right side) – dc2 into each row to last 2rows; dc2 + sl.st1 into 3rd ch, ch3
2nd row (wrong side) – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to end + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch, ch3
3rd row (right side) – h5ch, [dc2 into 1ch, sk1] to end + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch, ch3
Work other rows as your 3rd row using a smaller size crochet hook/hooks to narrow the sleeve.
14th row – hdc to end + sl.st.1 into 2nd ch
Edges
Work hdc to end.

Tie

Make a foundation chain of about 162 chs or as long as necessary, h2ch, sl.sts to end.
