Gauge - About 15 chains go into 4 inches (10 cm.)

Step-by-step crochet instructions:
Step 1
Make a foundation of 53 chain stitches or multiples of 9 chains plus 8 additional chains.
Step 2
Acorn pattern
1st row – h4ch, dc1, [ch1, cl1, ch1, dc2on1ch, ch1, sk2, sc1, ch1, sk2, dc2on1ch] to end; at the end – ch1, cl1, ch1, dc2on1ch + RC3
2nd row – h4ch, dc1, [ch2, sk2, trcl1, ch2, sk2, dc2on1ch, sk3, dc2on1ch] to end; at the end – ch2, sk2, trcl1, ch2, sk2, dc2on1ch + RC2
3rd row – h4ch, dc1, [ch1, sk2, sc1, ch1, sk2, dc2on1ch, ch1, cl1, ch1, dc2on1ch] to end; at the end – ch1, sk2, sc1, ch1, sk2, dc2on1ch + RC3
4th row – h5ch, dc1, [sk3, dc2on1ch, ch2, sk2, trcl1, ch2, sk2, dc2on1ch] to end; at the end – sk3, dc2on1ch + RC3
Repeat the pattern starting from the 1st row until you reach the desired length of the shawl.
Step 3
Borders – raspberry pattern
*bump – work on one base chain: sc1, ch3, sc1
1st row – h4ch, [bump*1, ch3, sk3] to end; sc1 in the very last chain of the row + RC2
2nd row – h5ch, bump1, [ch3, bump1 in between the next 2bumps of the previous row] to end; ch3, sc1 in the very last ch. of the row + RC2
Repeat the 2nd row for 4 or more rows.
Attach the yarn and work the same border on the other end of the shawl.
Step 4 (optional)
Work sc on the both sides of the shawl.
