Button up long-sleeve girls cardigan crochet pattern

Begin crocheting from the bottom to top.
Make a foundation chain of 106 chains or any even number of chains.

Bottom edge
1st row – h2ch, sc to end + RC1
2nd row – h2ch, hdc to end + RC1
3rd row – h2ch, blsc to one last ch; sc1 + RC1
4th row = 2nd row
5th row = 3rd row

Pattern
6th row – h2ch, sc to end + RC2
7th row – h4ch, dc to end + RC1
8th row – h2ch, sc to end + RC1
9th row – h2ch, sc1, [leaf*1, ch1] to one last ch; sc1 + RC1
Repeat the pattern starting from the row 6 until you crochet to armpits.

First front part
Use 26 chains (1/4 of total number of chains)
1st row = 7th row (pattern)
You should have 2chs and 25 double crochets.
2nd row = 8th row (pattern)
3rd row = 9th row (pattern)
4th row = 6th row (pattern)
Repeat the four row pattern twice.

Shoulder part

5th row = 7th row (pattern)

Second front part
Work the second front part as a mirror reflection to the first front part.
Attach the yarn into the 26th chain from the end of the last body row.
1st row – ch2, dc25 + RC1
2nd and 6th rows = 8th row (pattern)
3rd and 7th rows = 9th row (pattern)
4th and 8th rows = 6th row (pattern)
5th row = 7th row (pattern)

Comments

For 36", 38", 40", 42", 44",

For 36", 38", 40", 42", 44", I would make a foundation chains of about 154 chs,162 chs, 170 chs, 178 chs, and 186 chs respectively. Then use 1/4 of chains for each front part and half chs (2/4) for the back part. Happy crochet!
