Scarf crochet pattern - simple nuts stitch
Step-by-step crochet instructions
Step 1
Make a foundation chain of 33 chain stitches or multiples of 2 chains plus 1 additional chain.
Step 2
Nuts pattern
1st row (right side) – h2ch, sc to end plus RC1
After the 1st row you should have 31 sc sts.
2nd row (wrong side) – h2ch, sc1, [cl1*, sc1] to end plus RC1
*cl – cluster – to work one cluster, you need to make yo, insert the hook into a base chain, grab the yarn, and pull it through. You should have 3 stitches on your hook. Pull the yarn through the first 2 sts on your hook. Two stitches should remain on the hook. Work yo, insert the hook into the same base chain again, grab the yarn, and pull it through. You should have 4 sts on your hook. Pull the yarn through the first 2 sts on your hook. Three sts should remain on your hook. Last time, yo, insert the hook into the same base ch., grab the yarn, and pull it through, resulting in 5 sts on your hook. One more time, pull the yarn through the first 2sts on your hook. Four sts should remain on the hook. Lastly, yo and pull the yarn through the all 4 stitches on your hook, resulting in 1 remaining stitch on the hook.
Alternate the 1st and 2nd rows until you crochet the desired length of the scarf.
Step 3
Last row should equal the 1st row to match the beginning and ending of the scarf.
Cut the yarn and secure it.
