Determination of the best car will depend on particular needs and preferences. Each vehicle has its own advantages and disadvantages and it is essentially important to indentify which quality of a car the most important while shopping for a new auto. Nowadays car manufacturers offer variety of vehicles to satisfy any drivers’ preferences and requirements.

Should I buy a new or used car?

Always remember there is only one, but often the most important advantage of getting a used vehicle – price. New car will cost more and you will lose the most because of depreciation if you decide to sell it after some period of time. Used cars are cheaper initially and the best option for low budget. All new vehicles under factory warranty. Mechanical problems are very rear and typically occur only if the car is defected, but buyer usually at no major risk and all repair or parts replacement will be done by a dealer at no charge to you. With a used vehicle after warranty expired all repairs are the owner responsibilities unless extended warranty will be purchased which typically contain a list of exceptions making very little sense to spend extras for the already cheap vehicle.

Practical needs

For driving everyday in the city small Kia Forte Koup, Chevrolet Cobalt or similar vehicles will be a good option. Because of smaller dimensions compact cars are easier to park and they are more maneuverable. Smart fortwo nearly twice shorter than Honda Accord LX and will fit perfectly in a parking spot where it will be impossible for other autos. Also compact cars typically have higher fuel economy because equipped with smaller engines and you will pay less at the pump if own Ford Fiesta instead of Chevrolet Tahoe.
Bigger family might need a minivan and 7 passengers Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey or Nissan Quest are worth to consider. Many full size SUVs including Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Expedition and Toyota Sequoia have spacious interior, highest towing capacity and very suitable for a big family. But with all the advantages they have lowest fuel economy. 4WD SUVs such as Jeep Wrangler or Toyota Land Cruiser will perform better in the snow and is a good option for winters.

Car prices

On a low budget it is a good option to get one of the cheapest new cars such as Nissan Versa sedan, Hyundai Accent or Kia Rio. Also consider the fact cars have different resale value and while one vehicle will decrease in price at 35% - 40% after first 5 years or 60,000 miles, other will lose nearly 50% of its original value.
Personal preferences will play an essential role while choosing a vehicle. Paying much more initially and spending higher amount on maintenance drivers often will choose the car just because they like it. Coupe Porsche Carrera will be a few times more expensive in comparison to any two doors economy vehicle, but speed, acceleration and most of all prestige or brand that is for what we pay.

Which car to get

Only analyzing a full range of factors will help to decide which will be the best car to buy for your needs, budget and preferences. While Ford F-Series and Chevrolet Silverado are very popular in US which satisfy many customers it doesn’t mean pickup truck will be practical for all drivers. Small and medium size sedans from Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Chevrolet, Hyundai or Kia might be good for some drivers, but many others might prefer SUVs from BMW, Mercedes Benz or Volkswagen.
