Baked chicken legs and wings are easy to make and very delicious dish. This meal will satisfy any family member even those who don’t like meat much. In addition, it is protein rich and therefore, it is good for your kids (if any), as well as for your health.
What do you need to have to prepare the dish?
You need to have an electric or gas oven, large baking tray, two large mixing bowl, and no-stick foil.
- 2 pounds of chicken legs and wings (can be either one or both)
- 3 tbsp of mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp of sweet’n spicy barbecue sauces (Sweet Baby Ray’s)
- ½ tsp of salt or by taste
- 1 chopped or sliced onion (optional)
- ½ tsp of honey (optional)
- ½ cup chopped red pepper (optional)
*1 tbsp - table spoon (approximately 14.9 milliliters)
**1 tsp - tea spoon (app. 4.9 ml.)
***1 cup - 250 ml.
Wash well chicken legs and wings. While still under the faucet you should check them for feathers or any other things that need to come off. Then salt each chicken leg and wing separately from both sides and place them into the large bowl.
Mix in the other large bowl mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, and honey (optional). If you don’t have honey you don’t need to bother yourself to go and buy one because this ingredient is just for flavor rather than for sweetness. The barbecue sauce is already sweet enough to make this dish very delicious.
Put cleaned and salted chicken legs and wings into the large bowl with the sauce and mix them well to make sure that each chicken leg and wing covered with the mix entirely. Leave it in the sauce for about an hour or longer. If you plan to soak the chicken legs and wings in the mix for more than an hour then it is not only better, but even safe to place the bowl with meat into the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to about 400 F. Place onto the baking tray no – stick foil. Make sure that your foil will be long enough to cover everything what you will put inside of it from all sides. Then you should put into the no-stick foil from the large mixing bowl your chicken legs and wings and add there also onions and red peppers if you want to. You can place there other things, such as garlic and carrots (anything that you think might be suitable there). After which you need to bake that about 1 hour and 15 min.
You can add to your baking tray pilled and cut potatoes as well. That way you will have a complete dinner without the need to prepare anything else to your baked chicken legs and wings. However, this dish might be good with boiled rice or mash potatoes as well.
