I understand the directions.

I understand the directions. Most patterns will list the total number of stitches you have completed at the end of each round (like 86). That is the information I need.

Hi GloriaL,

Hi GloriaL,
Each round you should add 14 dc more.
1st round(R) = 13 dc,
2nd R = 27 dc or (2 x 13) + 1,
3rd R = 41 dc or (3 x 13) + 2,
4th R = 55 dc or (4 x 13) + 3,
5th R = 69 dc or (5 x 13) + 4,
6th R = 83 dc or (6 x 13) + 5,
7th R = 97 dc or (7 x 13) + 6,
8th R = 111 dc or (8 x 13) + 7.
Happy crochet!

In the diagram you show

In the diagram you show increases through round 12, but in the written instruction sthe increases stop in rounds
9-20. Why is this?

In the chart I wanted to show

In the chart I wanted to show how the increase works. Crochet rounds increasing chs until it become wide enough to your head circumference. After that stop increasing chs and work just dc rounds as per instructions. Happy crochet!

I already finished my hat.

I already finished my hat. Now will proceed to stiffen it. The main question is how to make the brim with a wavy pattern.

Hi crochethook14,

Hi crochethook14,
To make my brim wavy, I did not stiffen it too much. Thanks for the idea. I'll put on my to-do-list to crochet a summer hat using a wavy pattern. Happy crochet!

Absolutely LOVE the hat and

Absolutely LOVE the hat and want to make it just so. In Aunt Lydias crochet thread Fashion 3 fine yarn I cannot find the main color. There is a copper brown, a white and an off white. Please say what both the colors are. I want use just your color combinations. Beautiful. Thanks

I've tried this pattern as

I've tried this pattern as you wrote but it send like mine is much tighter than yours and I'm not sure what I did wrong... It's not letting me upload a photo
