Make a foundation chain of 153 chs (I count all chs including the loop on my hook). Then join it into a ring with the slip stitch.
1st round – ch3, dc to end plus sl.st.1 into 3rd ch

Step 3
Front part
Attach the yarn where your corner is above 1st dc of inc
1 – 10 rows of the front part = 1 – 10 rows of the back part.
Step 4
Join back and front parts together
Work with the yarn of the back part and continue crocheting the 11th row of the front part just like 11th row of the back part. That way you join the two pieces from one side.
At the end of the 11th row (front part), work sl.st.1
Step 5
Body
1st round – ch3, dc1 between 2 inc., ch2, (inc1 into inc, ch2) x 3, dc2 between trcs, ch2, [(inc1 into inc, ch2) x 7, dc2 between trcs, ch2] x 2, (inc1 into inc, ch2) x 3, dc2 between 2 inc, ch2, (inc1 into inc, ch2) x 3, dc2 between trcs, ch2, [(inc1 into inc, ch2) x 7, dc2 between trcs, ch2] x 2, (inc1 into inc, ch2) x 3 + sl.st.1
Use a smaller size crochet hook
2nd round – ch3, dc1 into inc, ch2, [inc1 into inc, ch2] to end + sl.st.1
3rd and all other rounds work as 2nd round until you crochet to about your waist line. Then crochet other rounds as 2nd round until you reach the desired length of the blouse, using a larger size crochet hook.
One round before the very last round, work similar to the 2nd round, but work dc2 instead of ch2 or
- ch3, dc1 into inc, dc2, [inc1 into inc, dc2] to end + sl.st.1
Work sc to end for the very last round.
Step 6
Edges
Sc to end around your armholes and neckline using a smaller size crochet hook.

Oh by the way, is the 23

Oh by the way, is the 23 chains for each pineapple for a total of 46 chains? I would think so since 23 is an odd number but just want to make sure.

Hi eureka,

Hi eureka,
To add one repeat to each back and front parts, I would make following adjustments to the pattern:
Make a foundation chain of about 183 chs. Then work the 1st round as I did and make some adjustments to the 2nd and 5th rounds.
2nd round - ch5, sk2, sc1, (ch5, sk4, sc1) x 10, ch5, sk2, sc1, (ch5, sk4, sc1) x 7, ch5, sk2, sc1, (ch5, sk4, sc1) x 10, ch5, sk2, sc1, (ch5, sk4, sc1) x 6, ch5, sk4, sl.st.1
After the 2nd round, I had a square with 4 equal sides, and you should have a rectangle. Your back and front parts should be longer than your shoulder parts.
5th round – ch3, dc1 into sm.ch, dc76, inc1, dc55, inc1, dc76, inc1, dc55 + sl.st.1 into 3rd ch
Add one repeat to the 1st row (step 2).
1st row (right side) – ch3, dc1, inc1, ch2, sk2, Vst1, ch2, sk2, inc1, [ch3, sk3, sc1, (ch3, sk2, sc1) x 3, ch3, sk3, inc1, ch2, sk2, Vst1, ch2, sk2, inc1] to end; dc2 + RC3
Then just follow the pattern exactly.
One repeat for this pattern is an odd number. A repeat can be either even or odd number depending on a pattern requirements. Happy crocheting!

Hi, I would like to make this

Hi, I would like to make this top using two different colors. As in, the top part (around the collar) is one color then the body of the top a different color. How do I join two colors? Thank you

I would add a different yarn

I would add a different yarn at the beginning of the 1st row of the back part (step 2), and then at the beginning of the 1st row of the front part (step 3). Happy crochet!

Hi Sana, I would like this

Hi Sana, I would like this lovely top to be my next project. Please give me instructions for 40" (102 cm) chest circumference. Thank you in advance

On the first page you may

On the first page you may read my suggestion to Mmolaison how to adjust the pattern for L size 40" chest circumference. Happy crochet!

Hi Mara,

Hi Mara,
Please read my comment to Lindabr1. You may also adjust your gauge by using a larger size crochet hook. Happy crochet!
